Maharaj Lakshmishwar Singh College, a constituent unit of Lalit Narayan Mithila University (L.N.M.U.), is located in Sarisab-Pahi, the heart of the Mithilanchal region in Bihar. The area is historically significant, with Sarisab-Pahi being associated with the ancient city of Amaravati. Known as a center of learning for centuries, the village has produced numerous scholars over the years.
Founded on July 2, 1959, the college was established on land donated by the Maharaja of Darbhanga. It originally shared a campus with a local school, but today it has relocated to a new, modern campus equipped with lush greenery, a large playground, and separate buildings for the Arts and Science faculties, along with an administrative block. The campus is also Wi-Fi enabled and monitored by CCTV.
